1866 Nickel PCGS & CAC MS-64; RPD & Obv. Die Clash, FS-306/401; Rare! Looks 65!

Very tough variety showing a fascinating patchwork quilt of stars and bars covering the whole central obverse. The product of a massive die clash, it is noted as the strongest in the Shield Nickel series in the “Cherrypicker’s” book, and features a nice repunched date as an added bonus! An attractive, high-end example as attested to by the CAC “green bean”, this is indeed a find for the serious specialist, or just a lover of cool coins!
